Division 1 teams must play 3 out of conference games against other MCLA Division 1 teams to be eligible for an at large bid to the national tournament.

Division 2 teams must play 2 other MCLA Division 2 teams.  To qualify, the out of conference games must be against two unique opponents.

Playing the same out of conference opponent twice does not fulfill the requirement.  After all conferences have determined their Division A and B champions and the release of the final regular season poll, at large bids will be presented to the eligible teams in their order of ranking until a total of 16 Division1 teams and 12 Division 2 teams (including automatic bids) have accepted bids.
